Hello
Shoshana Levy (they/she) is a vertical aerialist and acrobat who uses high-powered dynamic movement embedded in contemporary dance. They are a ferocious tinkerer, innovator, and interpreter of movement who uses their craft to transport audiences to an alternate reality full of whimsy, allure, and the macabre. Shoshana enjoys being a chameleon and trying on new characters for each piece they create. Their performances have been described as “captivatingly vulnerable.” They specialize in rope, silks, and partner acrobatics, as well as dabbles in handbalancing and hula hoops. Shoshana is a company member of Such Creatures and has recently performed in shows such as the Actors Gymnasium Circus Cabaret (Eu - featured rope act, and ensemble dance/acro numbers), Far Away (physical theater), Circus in Progress (rope), Missiles Kid (dance, acro, and rope), Spider Lullaby (rope), Alice in Circusland (physical theater), a Holiday in Narnia (flying trapeze). They graduated from The Actors Gymnasium’s Professional Training Program (class of 2024) with concentrations in aerial rope, hula hoops, and handbalancing. In addition to their work onstage, Shoshana is also the board Treasurer for CSAW, a nonprofit circus organization that provides information and resources for all, and grants for BIPOC artists in order to make circus more inclusive, accessible, and diverse.
